Hello, Everyone:
I work in a department that has quite a few post cards and
photographs in the collection. They are in protective sleeves so they
aren't damaged when handled. The sleeves have our numbering system. My
boss would like to start putting some kind of property identification on the
backs of the actual items so that if they are stolen (some have come up
missing) the item might possibly make its way back home. I am reluctant to
do this. What are your thoughts or advice on this practice or what works in
the museum or archival settings?
        Thanks for your assistance.
