Inquiry to exhibit designers, builders, and curators:
 
Iam looking for additives or substitutes for water in a maritime exhibit
where water (liquid) is required.
 
Other requirements include:
        minimal evaporation to eliminate condensation in a sealed
                environment (the exhibit has an acrylic cover)
        "water" must be dyeable to dark or murky color to hide
                mechanical components and impart depth
        non-toxic and non-corrosive desirable
 
My first thoughts are things like mineral oil and aniline dye.
 
My first question should be...How does water react over extended periods
of time in sealed environments?
