Highways and Byte-ways: Computer Applications in Museums
November 17-18, 1994
Boston, MA

Held at the Computer Museum, this seminar explores the impact of new
technology on museums. Speakers will address advances in computer hardware
and software, the process of planning for computerization, and the use of
computers in specific aspects of museum operations -- interpretation,
collections management, membership, etc. While familiarity with computers
is useful, the seminar is non-technical.

Registration fees for the seminar are $310 for AAM members and $360 for
nonmembers. If you register before Oct. 28, you will receive a special
rate of $250. Some fellowhsip support is available; for application,
contact A. Storr at the phone number listed below.

A special rate for lodging is available at the nearby
Swissotel. Contact the hotel directly at (617) 451-2600, by Oct. 24.

For info, contact Annie Storr, assistant director for education, American
Association of Museums; (202) 289-9114; TDD (202) 289-8439.
