The Price Tower Arts Center, a vibrant fine arts complex and 1956 landmark designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, is looking for a senior level manager of marketing and development. The museum both preserves and interprets one of the country’s most significant architectural landmarks and hosts varied art exhibitions and educational programs. By the end of 2002, a hotel facility will open in the original Tower, and plans will be underway for an adjacent art museum facility to be designed by a major architect with groundbreaking in 2003. The Price Tower Arts Center is currently closing a successful $9.5 million capital campaign and upon the completion of the second phase of the campaign, the museum will be positioned as a prime cultural tourism destination.  We seek a highly motivated individual to spearhead our promotion, fund-raising, and public relations activities. This person should be organized, personable, comfortable in a fund-raising mode and have excellent communications and computer skills (knowledge of Raiser’s Edge a plus).

Responsibilities comprise identifying funding resources and arranging initial approach, including an annual fund; grant-writing, tracking, and reporting; soliciting in-kind support for museum programs; and corporate and individual membership program; developing an overall image strategy and marketing plan; production of press releases and managing media inquiries; drafting and placing ads and listings; and oversight of production of the quarterly membership bulletin. This is a new position, which will report directly to the executive director, work closely with the board of trustees and volunteers, and supervise two reports, one a volunteer/special events person and the other, a department assistant. A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business and several years’ development/marketing experience is necessary, in the non-profit sector preferably. We offer a very competitive salary and benefits package.

The Museum also seeks a Marketing and Development Assistant, whose primary functions include serving as the data information systems gatekeeper (knowledge of Raiser’s Edge a plus); provide support for the Capital Campaign and its committee; research and write grants; prepare reports; compel membership renewal notification, timely donors receipts; and work with Manager as directed on press releases, their distribution and the quarterly membership bulletin. Reports to Manager of Marketing and Development. College degree, good writing skills and attitude, and some experience, preferably in the non-profit sector, recommended. The Museum also seeks a Volunteer/Special Events Coordinator. Their primary responsibilities include serving as liason between new museum auxiliary group and the museum to ensure that policies, mission, and project goals are met; implementing and supervising events and projects on their behalf; help develop, train and schedule cadre of docents and volunteers regarding tours, shop and other positions; manage all special events at the Price Tower, whether in-house or space rental; and additional duty as primary sales person in Museum Shop.  Reports to Manager of Marketing and Development and must be courteous, diplomatic, and flexible with skills in event planning. Work experience, preferably in non-profits, required.
