Since museum-L is such a wealth of information on so many subjects, perhaps
there is someone out there who can refer me to any references on collecting
miniatures.  I am not so much interested in the standard books on
miniatures, but a social history perspective on why people collect
(miniatures specifically, if such a thing exists).  We are working on a
small holiday exhibit and are interested in juxtaposing children's holiday
toys and miniatures and those created and collected (primarily) by adults
