There's a publication in the US called The Chronicle of Philanthrophy. 
I don't know if it has a Web page, but it's sister publication, the
Chronicle of Education, does so there is a chance a Web search would be
productive.
Another source for information relating to philanthrophy might be the
Foundation Center here in Washington.  Their web site address is
http://fdncenter.org/index.html
