Several questions, but above all the classic one: What do they want
to use the photographs *for*? (or more precisely put: what rights do
they
want to license?)
What kind of site or page? home page? secondary page? button/icon?
Editorial or commercial site?
At what resolution, for downloading and re-purposing or not?
For how long do they want to license use the photographs?
How many photographs? Quantity discounting or sliding scale is
standard
procedure.

Check out this very good resource on the Web:
Publishers' Depot <http://www.publishersdepot.com> Use the "guest"
entrance, go to "Products and Prices" and then down that page to
"Electronic Publishing", choose "World Wide Web/Online Services" --
and you'll find a fairly representative commercial agency price list.
 The
site also has good info on CD-ROM licensing/pricing and copyright.

You can order the price list of the Bridgeman Art Library, a more
museum &
art-oriented photo agency, at
<http://www.bridgeman.co.uk/Request.htm>

(Another good source, as I recall, is that of the Picture Agency Council of
America, but I can't get through to it tonight for some reason. If I
succeed in checking it out & it has price info, I'll post again.)

Two articles which might help:
"Home Page Pricing" at <http://www.pickphoto.com/home.page.html>
and "Seth Resnick Photography Image Pricing Guidelines" at
<http://www.sethresnick.com/price/price.html>

Hope this helps.
