Gary Acord you may wish to contact The Seagram Museum, 57 Erb Street
West, Waterloo, Ontario or call (519) 885-1857. In a recent advertisement
there was also and 800 number (1-800-465-TRIP) which may be
accessible from your area.

I had visited this museum about ten years ago on a visit to the
Stratford Festival and was able to renew my memories this past May
on a return visit to Stratford. The collection and displays cover
all aspects of alcohol production, but there is a concentration on
wine and whisky production. In addition to a lot of graphic material
the artifacts cover the whole gamut of bottles, cork screws, barrels,
glasses, etc. There are also some interesting video productions
explaining the various production processes. I believe there is
also an extensive archival and document collection.

All in all, quite a range of materials and well displayed in a
restored building which originally housed huge racks of barrels
filled with some type of spirits. For visitors, the experience
is especially appealing in that there is a good restaurant and a
branch of the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario--the regulation
of booze in this province is a story in itself!) which carries only
products distributed by Seagram.

Sorry I can't provide names, etc. but I'm composing this at home
and don't have ready access to the Canadian Museums Assn Directory.

Cheers! Ron
