Hello all,

My navy group, Ship's Company (www.shipscompany.org) a registered 501(c)
corporation, is looking for grants to help fund education programs as well as
retrofitting our new pinky schooner to more of a c. 1800 appearance. We've
targeted a few local grants that we would like to apply for and we have a
committee of people willing to work on writing them but all of us are grant
newbies and need help getting going.

If there is anyone in the DC/Baltimore metro area that could help us get
started or anyone willing to help out via e-mail, we'd be eternally grateful.
Obviously, we can't pay you (unless you write a grant for yourself to cover
your services) but it would be great resume material and you'd be helping out a
really great bunch of people that do a wonderful job of interpreting naval life
from the Rev. war through the Civil War. (Plus we'd give you a ride on one of
our really cool ships. :) I should note for the museum studies students out
there that this would be great experience that will be very beneficial once you
start looking for jobs. Grant writing is one of those skills that anyone,
regardless of their field, can use.

IF you are interested in helping, please shoot me an e-mail at:

(And if anyone is in the DC/Baltimore area and would like to join SC, we're
always looking for new recruits - men, women, powder monkeys all welcome!)

Thanks in advance!!

Deb Fuller
