The Albany (NY) International Airport had an exhibition showcasing private collections a few years ago.  It was a very popular exhibition.  The Art and Culture Program at the airport is headed up by Sharon Bates.  I don't have contact info with me right now but I'm sure you can google the airport and find her contact info there.
