Good Morning Deb,
Back in the 1970s (when I used to be university museum curator...
sigh!), I had a very detailed question about an ancient Roman Gladius
(military short sword). My question was expertly answered by our
British colleagues at the Royal Armouries. Our museum-cousins in the
U.K. were very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. I would
suggest you contact them at http://www.armouries.org.uk/home
Best Wishes,
Wesley

Subject: Ancient Persian Coat of Maille

Hi all,

This is a completely random request. I'm looking for a picture of a
Persian coat of mail dating from around the time of Darius I (400s
BC). I'm editing a online course on contracting and there's a
quotation from Darius I used as an example. The picture for that
example is of a typical medieval suit of mail. While I should be happy
with the fact that the writers actually used a "coat of mail" instead
of "chain mail", I know there will be a history geek out there that
will be bothered by the wrong type of mail in the picture.

This course is for the US government so it's a) educational, and b)
completely no profit if anyone is concerned about copyright.

Thanks in advance!!

Deb, the esoteric :)
