You pose a reasonable question.....unfortunately, in my humble opinion,
there are no reasonable (read: simple) answers.  This topic has been
knocked around the on this listserv since 1994.  Please check out the
archives and search under "Masters Degree or Certificate."  After reading
the first 100 or so responses, you will be saying with me, "Gee, I don't
know, it depends."  After over 30 years in the museum profession and
possessing a graduate training in museum studies from a world-class
department of museum studies, I can say, without reservations, that.......I
don't know the answer,...."It just depends."
