Museum-L members,

I am developing a session for the American Association for State and Local
History for next October's meeting on "perspectivistic interpretation." I
would like to know if any subscribers to the list know of museum exhibits
or historic site interpretations that have been dramatically changed as a
result of approaching a topic from the perspective of a previously ignored
group. For instance, the interpretation of the Little Bighorn Battlefield
has dramatically changed since interpretation began to include the Indian
side of the story. What other sites or exhibits have been rewritten or
changed in the wake of adding the perspectives of African American,
Hispanic, women, or other previously excluded groups? Since the conference
is scheduled to be held in Denver and the focus is--to some extent--on the
West, I am particularly interested in sites that have changed their
interpretation to include the Hispanic experience.

Thanks in advance for your help.
