If those who have expressed umbrage in the recent
discussion about foot binding, corsetry, and
superimposing present-day value systems would take
just half that oomph and apply it to some of the
present-day problems, I think we could solve a LOT of
today's ills.

If we're just taking exception with one another,
that's one thing.  But if you're as committed as you
express here to resolving travesties, I've got a big
old activist's laundry list of things you can start
fixing--like present-day problems with slavery,
human-rights violations, and the like.

Why not put that rancor to good use?
