Contact the person who was your supervisor and discuss it with them. I'm
sure they will understand your reasons for wanting a better job title on
your resume. The main reason why you want to discuss it with them is so
they won't be caught off guard by references calling to discuss you.

Can you image the conversation?

"I'm calling about Derrick your former museum intern?"

"Derrick. . . intern. . . no, we had a Derrick, but he was an
Administrative Support / Other."

Best to avoid that potential problem.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Museum job title

Hello everyone,

I recently earned a Master's degree in Applied History and I'm updating my
resume. I held a graduate assistantship in a small museum at my
university.
My main duties were describing and cataloging objects in PastPerfect,
writing text for exhibit labels, maintaining the museum's website, and
assisting with the museum store (mostly processing online orders). I did
other things, as well. For example, I researched and recommended some new
books for our library collection. I essentially served as the museum's
computer support specialist, since I was the most tech savvy staff member
and others came to me when they were having computer issues. Furthermore,
I
was usually the person who changed light bulbs in the gallery when needed.

Here's the problem I'm having: The university's official job title for
this
assistantship is simply "Administrative Support / Other." For obvious
reasons, I don't want to put that on my resume. However, I'm not quite
sure
what a proper job title would be. Does anyone have any suggestions based
on
what I outlined above?

Thanks in advance,
Derrick D. Little
