Jennifer: Great post! I feel like James Joyce just signed
          on...

On the other hand, I think less contempt for us poor weak
mortals, both Jewish and "goyish" (by the way, I personally
find that kind of an in-crowd offensive term, kinda like
"whitey", the "n-word", or "schvartze"...I think gentile is
          gentler) might be in order.

After all, who among us doesn't like a good meal and a nice
place to sleep? Who among us doesn't look foolish sometimes,
and who among us won't get old and shuffle alonng, much to
the amusement of the young'uns (only those who die before
          they get there.)

Particularly if you work in a museum, tolerance of people's
variety seems to me to be a virtue. It's all too easy to be
contemptous of visitors of all stripes.

I think that the prospect of going to a holocaust museum is
filled with stress for people of all races, and the
reassurance of a nice place to stay and eat is a perfectly
          natural "sell."

Anyway, again, I admired the poetry of your post, but I find
myself more sympathetic with the hoteliers and the shuffling
          grandmas and pas.
