The Educopia Institute (www.educopia.org) would like to invite representatives from Michigan-based cultural heritage institutions, government agencies, or academic research centers to a free Library of Congress-developed workshop on digital preservation. Hosted by the Tri-Cities Historical Museum (http://www.tri-citiesmuseum.org/), this workshop will follow the curriculum of the Digital Preservation Outreach & Education (DPOE) Program based at the Office of Strategic Initiatives for the Library of Congress. Date: Monday, July 30th
Time: 1pm-5pm
Location: Tri-Cities Historical Museum in Grand Haven, MI (see a map)

This interactive workshop consists of three modules and aims to provide attendees with basic digital preservation curriculum so that they can better curate the unique digital collections that they are building at their institutions. Modules for this workshop address the following topics:
1.	Protect - How can you protect your preserved digital content from everyday threats and emergency contingencies?
2.	Manage - How do you implement requirements for long term digital preservation?
3.	Provide - How should you provide access to digital content over time?

Restricted to representatives from Michigan-based cultural heritage institutions, government agencies or academic research centers, registration for this free workshop is currently limited to 50 seats.
