Sir,
We at ASU would be most interested in your concerns and what you
have in mind. If you have not been in contact with them, I would
recommend you write to Assn. of College and University Museums &
Galleries, Univ. of Oklahoma, Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of
Natural History, 2401 Chatauqua Ave., Norman, OK 73072, and see what
they have done in this area. I am sure that Pat McElyea of our staff
would be most happy to act as our liasion.

Musseum Director

> Hello -
> I belong to an organization, SECAC (Southeastern College Art Conference).
> We are in the process of setting up a department of the organization that
> deals with the organization of college and university museums and galleries.
> Many of us work in colleges and universities that have the fortune to
> maintain either a museum or a gallery. However, we have discovered, through
> several panel discussions, that there are no rules of order, no system, and
> no consistency from one campus presidant to the next.
>
> What we want to do is establish standards, guidelines that will help all of
> us. Granted the guidelines will have to be broad because of the various
> personalities of each institution, still there needs to be some consistency.
> Does anyone have guidelines, experience in creating a structure?
>
> I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you in advance for your
