I agree about this being a good AAM topic. After 6 months in operation,
the Dallas Museum of Art Gopher service is averaging 9,000 accesses to
museum text and digital images per month. We were astounded. In
addition, we are working with a local university who is providing free
access to its hardware and Internet connections, so that all the project
has cost us is $25.00 per month for our dial-up Internet accounts via the
Texas Higher Education Network. It seems there is a great deal of
untapped potential for low-cost, high-exposure public access on the Internet.
