Dear Listers

I'm sure this issue has cropped up before but here goes.

I'm looking for one or more examples of existing exhibition loans-policy
documents? I've been asked to put one together and have drafted something
which lists all the usual things: safeguarding the interests and reputation
of the institution, insurance requirements, physical security, transport and
courier provision, environmental controls, conservation issues, copyright
legislation etc. etc.

I've deliberately kept my draft document short and to the point. I can't see
much benefit in padding it out to form a more substantial looking document
than it needs to be. After all, we already treat all loan requests on their
individual merits and can easily add additional clauses as and when we see
fit.

I know there are published 'guidelines' for drafting this sort of thing on
both sides of the Atlantic but our Museums Management Committee would like
to make some comparisons, if possible, with existing documents already in
use by other institutions. Can anyone help?

Many thanks
