Ah, but underscore is what we did when we hand wrote titles in the blue 
books or typed them. That was long before we had wonderful software programs 
where with the click of a button I have bold or italics.

Where I work now, one reporter wants to use quotes, but the publisher (who 
subsribes to the NY Times Book Review) wants italics.

I'm of the italics school myself if I have access to italics as with this 
program, and underscore if it is hand written.
