Jay,
Some years back (15-20) there was a model futuristic train that was similar 
to the race car tracks.  Part of it functioned on a horizontal surface and 
then ran on the track up a wall.  I don't know if it is still made, but just 
about everything is available on Ebay.  As far as any other type of regular 
model train of the standard variety (HO, Lionel, etc...) I do not know of 
any.
