As part of the upcoming Human Origins exhibit, we want to include some
maps which show the location of key fossil sites, and perhaps some of the
more conspicuous geographic features such as rivers, mountain ranges,
etc... We would also like to have the option of showing/not showing
political boundaries. If anyone knows of software packages which allow
the generation of such maps, please write back!! The resolution does not
have to be great, as we plan to display fairly large geographic areas on
each map.
