Subject: Re: [MUSEUM-L] cataloguing objects on an old mine site

Dear Marcia,

The museological answer is: Do not be frightened by the number of objects. Do not collect everything. First, you need a mission and a collection strategy. For telling "the story of the mine" you do need any nail. If 4 pieces of a kind of objects provide you with no more information than one piece, collect only one piece and do your documentation well. Get rid about the rest (ask other museums if they are interested in the rest).

Best wishes

Christian
