Illuminating Exhibitions:
The Light at the End of the Fiber


This one-day symposium examines the conservation advantages of fiber optic lighting in library and museum exhibitions.  Participants will hear about philosophical perspectives on the use of fiber optics, the state of fiber optic technology, practical considerations when installing a system, and will also have the opportunity to see the recent installation at the Huntington for the current exhibition on George Washington.

Directions to The Huntington:

Foothill Freeway (210):  From the west take the Hill Avenue off-ramp and follow surface street (and signs) to Allen.  Proceed south about one mile to the Huntington.  From the east take the Allen off-ramp south to the Huntington gate.

San Bernardino Freeway (10):   Take the San Gabriel Blvd. off-ramp north.  Turn left on California and left again at Allen.  Proceed south to the Huntington gate.

Pasadena Freeway (110):  Freeway becomes Arroyo Parkway.  Continue on Arroyo; turn right on California; turn right again on Allen and proceed to the Huntington gate.

Huntington Drive:  Turn north at San Marino Ave.; jog left after one long block, then turn right onto San Marino again and left after one block onto Stratford, which ends at the Huntington gate.
