You might want to check with your local locksmith. I've seen numbered brass
key tags that might do the trick. I did a quick search and came up with a
couple samples of blank brass key tags. With the right numbering method, the
small keychain hole could be hidden. Two examples:

These might also be available in other configurations through a local
dealer? I saw several online engravers that could do custom jobs as well.

Best of luck!

Peter

Subject: Numbered artifact ID labels

Hello,

Does anyone know of a source for sequentially numbered disks that could go
next to artifacts in a case? We have several small pieces to display, so we
want to do the labels in groups, with reference numbers (e.g. 1-8) next to
each artifact. I am thinking of some kind of black disk, maybe a half inch
in diameter, with a white number on it. I don't know if someone sells these
prefab or if we will need to have them custom made. Hand cutting 400 little
circles does not sound like fun.

Gordon
