I am searching for what flag would have been carried by the French
expedition through Kansas in 1724.
Capt Etienne Vengard de Bourgmont, the military commander of the French
colony of Louisiana came through what is now Atchison Kansas. We are
developing an exhibit of flags that would have flown over our county in
history and are trying to find what type of flag they would have
carried. Since this was before the tri-color I have found some sources
referring to different styles of
FLEUR DE LIS FRENCH FLAGS
My question is which one of these would they have likely carried. I have
found sources saying in this time it would have been a blue background
with three fluer de lis
one saying it would have been white with 3 gold fluer de lis
and one saying it would have been a white flag with (I believe 9) on it.

Can anyone fill me in or point to a source to find a more definitive
answer?
Thanks in advance.
