ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
MASTER'S PROGRAM IN CRITICAL CURATORIAL STUDIES

Applications are invited for the tenure-track position of Assistant
Professor in the new Master's Program in Critical Curatorial Studies,
effective July 1, 2001.  The successful applicant will have responsibility
for directing this innovative interdisciplinary graduate program which
begins September 2001, as well as contributing to the teaching of her/his
discipline.  Candidates are expected to have a PhD or equivalent
professional experience, with expertise in anthropology and/or art history.
 The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work across
both disciplines, as well as to incorporate knowledge of contemporary art
and theory.  The appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor level
either in the appropriate academic department or as a cross-appointment in
departments related to the Program.  Exceptional candidates may be
considered at a higher level.  The successful candidate is also expected to
bring professional museum or gallery or equivalent experience, demonstrated
organizational abilities, and the vision and energy to build the new
program and establish effective connections with other institutions,
programs, and scholars.
