On the subject of "museum professionals":

The Pennsylvania state legislature passed a bill on May 23, 1919, stating
that the State Museum "shall be under the immediate charge of a curator, who
shall be a skilled taxidermist." (To address the other part of the debate,
he received a salary of $2,400.00/ year.)
