 Volunteer / Program Coordinator
 Grande Prairie Museum


 Grande Prairie Museum is looking for an individual who will recruit, train and
 coordinate the activities of volunteers, and develop and implement programs
 for all museum visitors.

 DUTIES:
 Under the direction of the Administrator/Curator the successful applicant will:
     - Determine volunteer sources, recruit and train volunteers and develop
       job descriptions
     - Coordinate and supervise volunteer tasks as required and develop a
       recognition program
     - attend workshops, keep abreast of developments in volunteerism and
       develop a comprehensive volunteer procedures manual
     - coordinate and present museum programs
     - review current programs and develop others as deemed appropriate
     - assist the Administrator/Curator as required


 QUALIFICATIONS:
     - University degree in a discipline related to museum work or
       equivalent experience in tasks and responsibilities
     - Good verbal and written communication skills
     - Good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work alone
     - Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to relate well to all
       museum personnel
     - Computer skills, and a valid driver's licence
     - A strong commitment to the concept of volunteerism

 Grande Prairie Museum is currently in the process of developing a Master Plan.
 This document will guide museum development and operation into the 21st
 century. This initiative will create a challenging and exciting period for all
 employees as the museum becomes more proactive and responds to current
 realities in its various communities.
