A course on Pest Management and Control for Museums
will be held at West Dean College, West Sussex, UK, 18-25 October
1996. The deadline for application to this course has been extended
until July 15, 1996.

Organized by the Conservation Unit of the Museums
and Galleries Commission and the Getty Conservation Institute, it is
designed for conservators, collection
managers and other museum personnel responsible for
overseeing or advising on insect pest management policies and
activities, including pest eradication
within their institutions. Theory and practical sessions will
address insect identification, integrated pest management, and
eradication methods (with an emphasis on non-toxic methods: high and
low temperatures and reduced oxygen environments).
