Hi all,

This thread has been most informative even to someone who has been to
Washington DC a lot. I also found that the Red Roof Inn in Chinatown is
a very reasonable and convenient place to stay right in DC. Of course, I
love Chinatown and the hotel is 2 blocks from the Metro as well. The
hotel also has parking (minimal rate), so it is an easy ride into the
city at night, park the car and get around with ease. I think it was
$79. per night, and it has a very attractive lobby and rooms. If you get
a membership, you save 10 % I think on the rate. I have also used the
Economy Lodge in College Park, MD, also a 2 block walk to the Metro
station and with free parking. But I really like the convenience of the
Red Roof Inn. My list of places to visit certainly has grown from this
thread. Thanks all.
