An amen to Jim Angus' note about the lighter side.

My vocation involves conveying the significance and value of cultural resources
to the
public.  I'm also helping them understand what curators, archeologists, conserva
tors and
other CRM folks do (and why), in part so they will keep paying admission fees an
d taxes to
keep these folks usefully employed.  Anecdotes go a long way toward introducing
the
human element that aids understanding and appreciation...an element that's often
impossible to find in the professionally sanctioned literature of the CRM discip
lines.

So, while I learn from the technical discourse, too, let's keep a dollop of huma
nity on the
list.
