Hi MuseumLers - As a textile/costume conservator, I second David's 'motion':
replica much better in this circumstance than using an original!

... quick search on the internet will turn up plenty of
good reproductions stuff if you have some funds. 
Thats always better than using the original stuff,
it's getting harder to come by......Dave Naumec
