Byron,

Recently my company provided services to the Virginia Marine Science Museum in
developing their new 92 seat interactive theater located in the Owls Creek
Marsh Pavilion. The seats in this theater are equipped with keypads which
connect to a computer which controls the flow of the show. A 3-lens video
projector and LaserDisk player were selected to keep costs down, but more
importantly to allow the show to be interactive.

After a 10 minute show, the visitors are asked a series of questions which
shows their understanting of the presentation. This session is conducted by a
live moderator, but could also be fully automated and run by the computer as
well. The LaserDisk player allows quick access to various video clips from
the main presentation as directed by the computer. Using a LaserDisk allowed
VMSM to make the most economical use of the video produced for the theater.

The sound system, interactive computer system, keypads video projector and
LaserDisk mastering including installation and training cost around 130,000.
The chairs and the cost of the video production were seperate.

You might want to give the Director of VMSM, C. Mac Rawls a call as they
evaluated many different theater types in developing the plans for their
expansion. (804) 437-4949 They also have a 3-D IMAX theater. If you are
interested in seeing how Freya Ventures could assist you in the creation of
your theater, don't hesitate to call.
