The 2008 MESDA Conference on American Material Culture is just a week away -
October 9, 10, and 11 - and only a few seats remain!

A scholarly forum for research in early American decorative arts and
material culture, this year's conference includes speakers from Yale,
Harvard, the University of Virginia, the University of Delaware, the
Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Chipstone Foundation, the Virginia Museum of
Fine Arts, Wake Forest University and more.

Three MESDA Conference Field Tours on the final day of the conference offer
participants the opportunity to visit private collections in the North
Carolina Piedmont, get hands on with the collections of the Museum of Early
Southern Decorative Arts and Old Salem, or go behind the scenes at
Prestwould Plantation.

For more information - including a full schedule of papers - please visit
our website: http://www.mesda.org/conference.

Conference Registration - which includes a keynote address by Yale
University Professor Edward S. Cooke, Jr., two receptions, and lunch and
dinner Friday - is $100 ($55 for students). Friday's lectures only - with
lunch - are $40. MESDA Conference Field Tours are priced $75 - $100 and
will be filled on a first-come basis.
