There is a clip of the group Ayanagalu on the web at
http://www.kennedycenter.com/programs/millennium/artist_detail.cfm?artist_id=AYANAGALUU

This is an extended family group consisting of drummers, praise
singers, masqueraders and dancers from southwestern Nigeria. I saw a
long clip of a performance at an exhibit on African art and movement
called African Art, African Voices that was touring the country and was
organized, I believe, by the Seattle Museum of Art. There were a number
of clips of masked dancers from other West African cultures included in
a long-ish movie- the Seattle Museum of Art may be able to give you more
information on how to access the variety of clips.

If you want to build a ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood,
divide the work and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the
vast and endless sea. Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I am looking for moving images of African masked dances, mainly
west-african
mask dances, does anyone of you have any suggestions on sources,
preferably
accessible through the internet?
[ For the specialists, I am especially looking for material on the
Bobo, the
Kom of Cameroon, the Ibo, Salampasu, Yaka, Mende, etc. ]

Regards,
Daan van Dartel
