Just a note to Jennifer Schansberg with apologies to everyone else because
I can't seem to get through to Jennifer's personal address. The University
of Delaware offers a Ph.D degree in history that allows one to concentrate
on Museum Studies. In my own case, for example, my first two fields of
study were recent American history and early American history. My third
field was modern British and my fourth was museum studies. This also
resulted in a Certificate of Completion from the Museum Studies program
at the U. of D. The U of D/Winterthur Program also offers, I believe,
a Ph.D in American Civilization which I'm sure has a material culture
focus.
