1) Place the football in a cool, dry, dark place. If you intend to leave it
there for a while, get a football    "tee" and place the football on it. If
not, just lay the ball down and brace it so that the autograph isn't
touching anything.

2) Pick up a magazine entitled "Tuff Stuff", available at most retail
outlets or in a sports hobby shop. You will find advertisments from several
dealers who sell just the storage container you are looking for! I collect
baseball cards rather then autographed footballs, so I'm not familiar
enough with the product to give you an estimate on price. But there are
enough dealers of this type that you can comparison shop, and of course,
remember you get what you pay for.

3) Some of the storage cases come with see-through covers that are
UV-protected, but it's best not to display it in full sunlight.
