Check the Hudson's Bay Company Archives (Internet search will give you their
email address).  There is also a Fur Trader's museum in Nebraska or someplace
near there, who may have information on such coats.  Pendleton Woolen Mills
also produces blankets as with the Hudson's Bay Company or Whitney point
blankets that were traded and made into coats used by trappers and Native
American Indians.

Jas. Townsend Company has patterns for making such coats.
