We are seeking the Head of the Latin American Painting Department for our

PRIMARY FUNCTION/POSITION SUMMARY:
Heads and sets strategic direction for Latin American Painting Department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS (Duties include but are not limited to the
following):
•       Acts as primary business-getter for department, with focus on high-value
property, developing long-term client relationships.
•       Develop relationships with collectors/clients museum and curatorial
staff to foster potential business.
•       Work with South American regional representatives as well as Miami
office to cultivate Latin clientele.
•       Work with senior management to manage and review specialist staff.
•       Mentor junior staff.
•       Lead departmental hilling sessions (meetings to determine value,
condition and marketability of property).
•       Supervise departmental business-getting.
•       Work with business manager and senior management to develop long-term
business strategy for the department.
•       Work with business manager to review administrative staff, set sales
budgets, control costs and maintain profitability.
•       Work with business manager and marketing department to develop marketing
strategy for the department.
•       Write and prepare catalogue essays.
•       Other duties as assigned by Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
•       Bachelor’s degree in Art History or Decorative Arts to equivalent; M.A
preferred.
•       Minimum of 10 years paid work experience in the Arts.
•       In-depth knowledge of domestic and international client relationship
management and markets.
•       Renowned expertise in field.
•       Excellent interpersonal skills.
•       Fluency in Spanish.  Excellent writing skills in both English and Spanish.
