I would really appreciate some advice, contacts for possible
summer/vacation work. As some of you might remember I recently moved to
the US from SA to start a graduate programme at UC Berkeley. Since
finishing my masters 5 years ago I had been working on museum visitor surveys
and especially on evaluating programmes for attracting new audiences to
museums in both the UK and SA. I am hoping to broaden my scope through
graduate studies by loking at how museums and other cultural
representations of SA influence tourists and their attitudes to SA and
also will be learning a bit more about cross-cultural education over the
next semester. I have no funding except for a fee waiver for his year and
a teaching assistant post so I am afraid I have to earn some money over
the summer. I wouldlike to be learning as much as possible about US
museums and especially education and marketing at the same time, though.
I think that it may even be possible for me to apply for money if a
position matches my study fields but I getthe feeling that institutions
out there are more likely to know the sources for that.

I look forward to hearing from and remain internally grateful for this
link to the real world. Thanks very much for al your help.
