The Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum, Chicago, IL, is seeking a
full-time Evaluation Manager to join the Adler's Evaluation and Exhibits
Department.  This position reports to the Director of Evaluation and
Exhibits.

The Evaluation Manager assists with the development of departmental goals
and strategies, coordinates departmental initiatives, supervises full- and
part-time evaluation staff, and plans, coordinates and implements
evaluation of programs and exhibits for the Evaluation Department.  As a
project team member, the Evaluation Manager conducts front-end, formative
and summative evaluation of programs and exhibitions, including electronic
outreach.

Education required for this position is a Masters degree in a relevant
field of study (e.g, museum studies, psychology, educational psychology,
anthropology, sociology, science education).  At least three years
experience with the development and evaluation of exhibits and programs in
a museum setting is also required, as is experience in evaluating the
effectiveness of educational media. Experience with the management of small
projects, formal research experience and five or more years experience with
museum evaluation are preferred, as is fluency in one or more of the
following languages:  Spanish, German, Polish, Japanese, and American Sign
Language.

This is a full-time, permanent position. The salary range is $33, 400 -
$45,100 depending on experience and education.
