I forgot to add a few other possible sources:
Above the UofU campus is the Fort Douglas Military Museum, and they likely are working on
more recent war exhibits * and have direct contact with servicemen in the recent conflicts.
I've seen lots of art in their exhibits.
You may also want to check out at the Point of the Mountain, Camp Williams, near Riverton.
There are lots of Army Reserves/Actives out there who may have some art in them, and served
in various campaigns.
Man, my brain is thinking! You may also want to talk with Dugway Proving Ground, also
give a few Recruiters a call---they know all the programs and things going on. There is
a large military unit off of Redwood Road (1100 to 1900 South--somewhere in those blocks).
I also had an artist up at This Is The Place put on an exhibit, and he did military art, and
a veteran (but not of the Bush Wars). I will have to get my brain thinking to remember his name.

Greetings Museum-Lers,
This is a shot in the dark, but I hope someone might be able to
point
me in the right direction, especially those folks who are veterans of
the US
military or working at a military museum.
I seek information about professional visual artists --
individually or
a list (which would be awesome, if it exists) -- who are veterans of the
United States military who were involved in conflicts and peace-keeping
missions including/since Persian Gulf I (1990 to present).
[By "professional visual artists," I mean those who earn income
from
art-making as a primary means of support (excluding any military
pension)
and/or who have participated in gallery/museum exhibitions.
And so you know where I've looked already . . . Veterans of Foreign
Wars, American Legion, VSA, G.I. Bill regulations (multiple variants),
and
will contact those who organize(d) the National Veterans Creative Arts
Festival.]
