Neither would I consider Finland as the museum capital of the world with its
1089 museums population being 5,1 million...

Mostly this figure tells something about the traditionally high appreciation
people have had for the museum concept in general, but it does not reveal
the other side of the coin: small units with unsufficient funding scattered
both thematically and topographically aroud the country at random...

It is not a matter of just statistics. New York: population, 10 million, 103
museums. My country (The Netherlands), population 15 million, 650 museums...

That does not make The Netherlands the museum capital of the world.
