For anyone interested:
The Utah Museums Association, with funding from the Institute for
Museum Services, commissioned a statewide  economic impact study in
1995.  The research was done by the Bureau of Economic and Business
Research at the University of Utah, and published as a report in
September 1995.   I don't know if copies are still
available, but you might try Ann Hanniball at the Utah Museum of
Natural History ([log in to unmask]).
