The Tech Museum of Innovation
Position Available
Retail Shipping/Receiving Clerk

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Retail Shipping/Receiving Clerk will perform all functions of incoming
and outgoing shipments for the Museum Store.  The Clerk will report to the
Store Manager and will work closely with the Store Supervisor and the
Buyer. The Retail Shipping/Receiving Clerk is a full-time, non-exempt
position.

Responsibilities

-Receives incoming goods, checks merchandise against packing slips, and
signs off freight bills.
-Receives merchandise in the computer, prepares voucher, resolves shortages
and breakage problems.
-Prints receiving reports and matches invoices.
-Maintains neat and accurate filing system.
-Coordinates RTV's, mis-shipments, book returns, call tags.
-Tickets merchandis and brings appropriate levels of new merchandize to
selling floor and arranges backstock in organized  and easily assessable
fashion in stock room.
-Maintains flow of products to the selling floor.
-Packs and sends all customer order from the Store and the Online Store.
-Maintains excellent working relationships with other employees, especially
the museum's Shipping/Receiving Coordinator.
-Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
-Accurate and detail oriented with paperwork and numbers.
-Experience in inventory control and warehousing required.
-Promptness, initiative and reliability.
-Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
-English proficiency and professional phone presence necessary.
-Computer literate. Experience with retail point of sale systems, bar
coding systems and data-entry preferred.
