Here is the list of Web sites which can be helpful for anyone interested.
For reasons unknown it did not show up in my previous posting to the list.
I am really sorry about that.

The Consortium for the Computer Interchange of Museum Information (CIMI)
(http://www.nstn.ca/cimi/) consists of 16 organizations
who have agreed to work cooperatively to solve complex problems
relating to the electronic interchange of museum information.
CIMI's major focus of effort is project CHIO, a demonstration
project on the theme of folkart.

Museum Online Resource Review
(http://www.okc.com/morr/) contains information on
Keyword Search, Categorical Listing, Alpabetical Listing, New Sites.
Features museums, related institutions and other World Wide Web and
Gopher sites of interest.

The WWW Virtual Library
(http://www.w3.org/hypertext/DataSources/bySubject/Overview.html)c
is a distributed subject catalog.

WWW Virtual Library museums pages
(http://www.comlab.ox.ac.uk/archive/other/museums.html)
contains links to museum sites in UK, the USA, Canada, Italy, Sweden.

These are Yahoo subdirectories that also can be helpful
(notice, museums are given under "Entertainment"!?):
        Entertainment: ...: Exhibits
(http://www.yahoo.com/Entertainment/Comics/Animation/Exhibits/)
        Entertainment:Television:Museums
(http://www.yahoo.com/Entertainment/Television/Museums/)
        Society and Culture:Folklore
(http://www.yahoo.com/Society_and_Culture/Folklore/)

                                Very sincerely,
