Karen,

I don't know what the official word is on the type of corrugated
boxes you're talking about, but about ten years ago I salvaged a
bunch of these boxes from a school district media center ( they were
going to a more rigid, molded plastic container). I have used them
for storing little squishy things like Eskimo toys, and small textile
items, jewelry, anything small that was likely to get lost on our
less than perfect shelving system.

I like the fact that I can write accession numbers on the outside of
the box, they stack well on open shelves, they fold flat when not in
use, and at least for us were absolutely no cost. They seem to be
inert - I trusted to the knowledge of the library folks who acquired
them initially. I haven't a clue how expensive they are compared to
other boxes, but if they were competetively priced I'd probably buy
more of them, because they have served us well.

M. Mace
