My greatest suggestion would be to find out what museums are in your area
and try to set up informational interviews with people in the department of
your interest. This way you will make contacts (very, very important) and
learn a bit about how things work from the inside. Then, you will also find
out for yourself exactly what aspect of museum work you like best.
